About the project

Daman is a comprehensive digital platform built for Iraq's private-sector labor pension and social security services. It brings together three core services in one system: a companies window for registering firms and workers under labor law, a voluntary pension track for self-employed workers to register officially and secure a lifetime pension, and digital ID issuance for subscribers. The platform manages subscriber data electronically instead of through manual, paper-based procedures. It handles registration and tracking of both workers and employers, and automatically calculates contributions and deductions. It manages pension and compensation transactions and issues official letters and certifications digitally. A centralized database supports ministerial-level reporting. Given the scale of private-sector and voluntary subscribers plus social security staff, the system is designed to serve a user base potentially reaching into the millions.

Use case

Before Daman, private-sector pension and social security procedures relied on paper-based processes, making registration, contribution tracking, and record-keeping slow and error-prone. Workers and employers had to handle transactions manually, with no centralized way to verify contributions or pension status. Daman digitizes these procedures end-to-end from company and worker registration to contribution calculation and pension transaction management. This gives the responsible authority accurate, centralized records and ministerial reporting, while giving workers and employers faster, more transparent access to their social security status.
